Time for Flowers Time for Snow is a musical retelling of the Greek myth of Demeter and Persephony composed by Giannis Georgantelis for symphony orchestra, children’s choir and soloists with text and lyrics by award winning Canadian author Glen Huser.
Hades , the terrifying King of the Underworld falls in love with beautiful Persephone, abducts her, and takes her to his dark kingdom where he uses different tricks to trick her in staying with him. The stubborn Persephone however makes his life difficult , while at the same time her furious mother, the Goddess Demeter, condemns the upper world to drought and frost . Zeus and the other Gods desperately try to find a solution out of this mess…
Greek-Canadian production of Chromamusika ( Montreal ) with the Orchestre Symphonique Pop de Montreal and 180 children from 7 different schools and 18 different ethnic backgrounds. Featuring soloists: Dimitris Ilias , Maria Diamantis , Elie Manousakis, Xavier Grey. Orchestra conductor Alain Cazes. Choir conductors Dimitris Ilias - Maria Diamantis .
The recordings took place in Montreal , London and Athens .
Narration provided by Terry Jones of Monty Pythons fame.

Le temps des fleurs le temps des neiges (French adaptation)
Le temps des fleurs, le temps des neiges is a major multidisciplinary project whose ultimate goal is the creation of a children’s book and CD, to be released in the fall of 2015.
The CD brings the book to life through the narration of actor Guy Nadon and songs performed by a choir consisting of 320 students and soloists, accompanied by the Orchestre symphonique pop Montréal, conducted by Professor Alain Cazes.
These students come from 30 different ethnic communities in Montreal and from schools belonging to the Commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeoys and the English-Montreal School Board, as well as from École Socrate-Démosthène.
The story is based on the myth of the goddess Demeter, her daughter Persephone, and the origins of the seasons.
The original text in English was written by Glen Huser, from Vancouver, and translated into French by Jean-Antonin Billard and Robert Paquin.
The illustrations are by Philippe Béha.
The book was published by Planète Rebelle.
The music was composed by Giannis Georgantelis.
The CD was produced by Chromamusika, in collaboration with Panarmonia Musical Workshop.
