The Magic RecorderThe Magic Recorder is a retelling of the classic German legend of the piper of Hammelin composed by Giannis Georgantelis (lyrics & music) for symphonic orchestra, children’s choir and soloists ,and text written by Christina Manias.

Hammelin is a rich town. The inhabitants , however, are greedy and selfish. When the winter comes, Hamelin fills with thousands of mice which eat whatever comes before them . And when everyone despairs, a mysterious man appears, dressed in colorful clothes and having only a recorder in his hands . He promises to turn the mice away, if the residents give food and clothes to the people of the neighbouring villages. The man takes the mice away from the town. However, the people will not honor the agreement . Then the strange man will give the residents a lesson they will remember forever...
